Flanders needs entrepreneurs. But for newcomers, this isn't easy. Will my business be profitable? What are social security contributions? And should I start as a sole proprietorship or a company? These are just a few examples of the questions you'll face when taking the leap into self-employment.
That's why we developed the videocast "Starting Your Own Business" in collaboration with the Flemish Agency for integration and Stebo vzw. A series of bite-sized episodes that explain the basics of entrepreneurship in a clear and accessible way.

A common barrier for new entrepreneurs: the information overload that hits you as soon as you Google "start your own business." That's why we opted for microlearning in the shape of short, sharp videocast episodes. Each episode addresses a single core question, for example: "Which social status do I choose?" The advantages of these videocasts? They're quick, clear, and memorable. And while the amount of information you convey is limited, the strength is that the stories provide just enough foundational knowledge to delve deeper.
In the videocast, we feature fictional newcomers who have started their own businesses in Flanders. The engaging mix of a barista, IT consultant, yoga instructor, and electrician leads to practical examples that make the theory accessible. This way, we don't give the listener a boring, technical story, but real-life experiences and relatable challenges.
Absolutely! Because in addition to the personal stories, we also feature a true expert. This gives the videocast the necessary depth. While the entrepreneurs share their personal experiences, the expert provides structure, knowledge, and practical tips that go beyond the individual story. This way, the listener not only gains recognition but also guidance and concrete insights to take action themselves. This combination makes the videocast both inspiring and educational.
